Vistage Florida needed an office refresh to update their look and roll out their new brand. At our first meeting, we were able to identify some other trouble areas we could address with the remodel. One key improvement we focused on was more storage and organization. As businesses grow and technology changes, they are often left with a lot of items they don't need but not the proper space for the things they do. Our goal was to create a beautifully branded and highly functional office space, for this team to thrive in. The results from our post occupancy evaluation indicate we nailed it!

Each workstation and office was designed to the unique tasks and needs of the employees role. We specified custom window treatments to allow the benefits of natural lighting while eliminating the blinding glare. Their new storage spaces are now beautifully organized and accessible by all. Happy employees, means happy customers and a very happy small business!

Orion Energy Systems is a lighting manufacturer and distributor specializing in energy efficient lighting retrofit solutions. Once located on the outskirts of Jacksonville, they decided to further their green initiative by relocating to a more central area in the city. BMor Creative was integral to the relocation and provided space planning, design and construction administration services.

One of their goals was to reduce the footprint of both their office and warehouse by creating a more efficient space plan and reducing enclosed offices. Each team member was an integral part to the overall solution and was overjoyed when the move in day arrived. BMor Creative worked directly with the contractor to secure the best pricing and schedule for Orion, creating minimal interruptions to their workflow. The result was an updated contemporary look, with more conferencing and open space to enjoy.

The North Florida Land Trust is a nonprofit organization committed to protecting and preserving the natural heritage of North Florida. And while their scope of interest is primarily land, it only makes sense that they would adaptively reuse a historic building when they began to outgrow their previous office space. Brewster Hospital was the selected building and it was ripe with Jacksonville History and potential and was already on The National Register of Historic Places. The building was constructed in 1885 as a residence and is said to have one of the most remarkable Victorian gingerbread porches in Jacksonville. The Brewster nurses took over in 1901, just after the great fire and started the first and only hospital and nurse training facility for African-Americans, in Jacksonville. It was restored and relocated downtown by the City of Jacksonville in the mid-2000s, where it sat patiently waiting to house a new team of passionate changemakers pushing for positive change.

We were thrilled with all of the original details and reproduction lighting and hardware this building came with. It was a perfect canvas to do something really special for the folks at NFLT. The biggest challenge was furnishing a once historic home with modern office furnishings, while making it all feel cohesive and intentional. We decided that working with a traditional palette of wood tones, warm greys, soft blues and cream, we could use the finish selections to bridge the gap. The furnishings have simple silhouettes lending themselves to a more transitional environment, with subtle historic elements such as tufting and wing-back chairs. A custom cedar conference table and wood stump side table bring the outdoors in and give a subtle nod to the natural environments the NFLT so passionately protect. Because of their unwavering commitment to employee-well being, we designed each private office with an adjustable height desk for sit/stand alternation. Highly ergonomic offices paired with large windows of natural sunlight and downtown views, and the North Florida Land Trust is truly thrilled with their new workplace experience. 

After exploring several options, including new construction, Perry-McCall decided to relocate their headquarters to an existing building and do a complete new build-out to suit the needs of their ever-expanding business. Having successfully worked together in the past, it was an easy decision for Perry-McCall to contract BMor Creative for Interiors.

So when Perry-McCall’s new building came with unique features and geometries, we were ready for the challenge.

The monumental stair was dated and not up to code. It needed to be modified to reflect a more modern style, without replacing it entirely. BMor Creative’s design plan for the staircase included bringing the painted metal back to original brass and adding glass panels to replace the balusters. The result was an original ensemble of finishes to bridge the past with a contemporary twist.

The sharp angles of the building were reconciled by the careful selection of flooring and floor patterns. Custom design features include a conference table for 16, a large standing table to service the kitchen and break area, and carpet recolored to match Perry-McCall’s branding. Custom millwork was built to house their many awards and to suit the unique nature of the construction industry. Bid areas and offices came complete with extra large work surfaces for reference drawings and custom storage to keep them rolled up and effectively stored.
